The quirky stars have been showing off their statement pieces and experimental style all over social media.

And the distinctive yet cohesive look has stood out so much that it’s been dubbed the Brat Girl look.

Charlie XCX summed up the Brat Girl aesthetic as this: “You’re that girl who is a bit messy and loves to party and maybe says dumb things sometimes.

“She’s honest, blunt and a little bit volatile. That’s Brat.”

And since it’s officially becoming a Brat Girl Summer, experts at New Look have pulled together some of their top items to help fashionistas create their own Brat wardrobe.

The full outfit comes to just £20.50 and is perfect to wear both in Scotland as well as on holiday.

It consists of a stunning black rhinestone mesh crop top with a matching split-hem midi skirt.

The strapless top sits perfectly over the chest with a thinner layer of fabric on the top.

It pairs perfectly with the slim-fit skirt which has a thicker mini-skit underlayer that stops the bum from being exposed.

It has a mesh overskirt that has a split that comes halfway up the thigh, showing off the legs.

Both items of clothing are covered in different-sized rhinestones that make them sparkly under the light.

It’s a bold look that makes a statement and effortlessly elevates any party style.

To finish off the look, you can match it with a pair of large, quirky, black tortoiseshell sunglasses.

The crop top costs just £8 and the matching skirt is only £9, which each one reduced from their original price by over 50 per cent.

They are part of New Look’s massive online summer sale with the top and skirt originally costing £15.99 and £27.99 respectively.

While the sunglasses are down to just £3.50 from £10.99 – making them nearly 70 per cent cheaper.

And if you don’t mind splashing out another £13.99, you could [ick up the perfect Black Cross body bag to complete the look.

Describing it on the website, bosses say it “pairs perfectly with every outfit” with its “neutral colourway and its plain design”.

How New Look reinvented itself from a teen shop

by Fabulous fashion editor Clemmie Fieldsend

“REMEMBER on a Saturday you’d meet up with your mates in your local town or city centre for a nosey around the shops? Well, if you were like me you’d end up in a New Look.” says Clemmie Fieldsend.

“New Look was always one of those shops that when all else failed you could rely on them for whatever you needed.

Your college uniform, night out or disco outfit – whatever was required you could count on New Look to meet your style needs.”

Clemmie says: “I felt myself growing out of New Look and thought of it as a younger brand that wouldn’t have what I wanted but a quick scroll through their website or look through stores has proved me wrong.

“This summer they are serving up some on trend delights from clothing to accessories and of course their comfortable footwear.

“Recently they’ve lured in Girls Aloud’s Nadine Coyle for an exclusive Spring Edit plus fashion influencer Georgina Lennon.

“They’re providing quality basics, elevated stables and trend lead designs that echo the New Look we all once loved but just a bit more grown up.”
