A LATE cabbie was given an incredible send-off which saw him propped up on a spinning mock taxi, tightly clutching the wheel.
The wacky footage shows the man’s body placed upright in a taxi coffin for his funeral – as if he is still working.
The body of the late man, whose identity is unknown, is placed sitting up in the open casket in Accra, Ghana‘s capital.
He holds onto the wheel of the car, which is coloured yellow and green, with a very tight grip.
The bizarre open casket then spins around on a makeshift rotating stand.
As he spins, a woman dressed in black is dancing nearby to cheery local music.
The taxi coffin’s number plate can be seen as GT 2364-24 and has a Ghana flag emblazoned over it.
It is not known if this is a replica of his taxi’s licence plate number.
Personalised coffins are said to be a growing trend among locals.
One local said: “Even in the next world he will still drive a taxi. I pity him.”
Another said: “Surprising how they managed to make his hands hold the steering wheel in such manner.”
A different user wrote: “This could only happen in Ghana“, while another remarked: “Let the dead be”.
But the bizarre take on an open casket is not a new concept.

The 53-year-old’s family dressed her up and contorted her into anm upright position to commemorate her.
Growing demand has left people paying around £2,000 to have their loved ones brought back to life for 2-3 days, sometimes before a conventional funeral takes place.
For renowned party lover Miriam – the option of a dull, closed-casket send-off was just never an option.
Her family even chose to paint her nails in black and gold to represent the colours of the New Orleans Saints football team.
