Crews working structure fire in downtown Topeka

TOPEKA (KSNT) - The Topeka Fire Department (TFD) worked a structure fire Wednesday morning.

At 6:58 a.m., the TFD was called to the 1300 block of Southwest Western Avenue for reports of a structure fire. When crews arrived they found smoke coming from the basement of a home.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire was undetermined. It was reported that no occupants and no working smoke detectors were found in the home, according to a city spokeswoman.
