Hugely popular seaside theme park planning a big new expansion – including exciting new hotel

A MASSIVE new hotel is set to be built at a popular UK seaside theme park.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is one of the country’s best-loved seaside attractions and it is hopeful of soon providing new accommodation for its visitors.

Currently, there are two hotels at Pleasure Beach, including the Boulevard Hotel and the Big Blue Hotel.

The former is a more high-end accommodation experience, with while the latter is more of a family-style hotel with direct park access.

However, a third looks set to be added, and it is expected to be situated near the park’s white Casino building.

There are also plans to develop pet-friendly apartments, connected to the existing Boulevard Hotel as a further option for visitors.

The news comes from the park’s owner Amanda Thompson, who was speaking on the World Beyond podcast, presented by Michael Mack earlier this month.

She said that the third hotel was “on the drawing board” at Blackpool as part of its future plans.

She continued: “We have to find the funding to do that hotel.

“I think it will be a lovely hotel.

“Hopefully it will be near the white Casino building near the entrance of the park.”

The hotel is currently in the planning stages, so details remain thin on the ground beyond what Thompson has already revealed.

However, there are thought to be some planning challenges that she needs to overcome.

That includes the planting of 60 trees, which would be required by Blackpool Council’s planning committee for the building to go ahead.

However, it isn’t an issue that is seen as insurmountable by those in charge of planning.

It’s no surprise to see Blackpool looking at extending its accommodation options.

Use these tips on your next theme park trip

Next time you visit a theme park, you may want to use our top tips to make the most of your adrenaline-inducing day out.

  1. Go to the back of the theme park first. Rides at the front will have the longest queues as soon as it opens.
  2. Go on water rides in the middle of the day in the summer – this will cool you off when the sun is at its hottest.
  3. Download the park’s app to track which rides have the shortest queues.
  4. Visit on your birthday, as some parks give out “birthday badges” that can get you freebies.
  5. If it rains, contact the park. Depending on how much it rained, you may get a free ticket to return.

According to Theme Park News, the park reported a financial loss of more than £500,000 in its latest accounts, but its Boulevard Hotel achieved a pre-tax profit of £673,000.

The hotels offer rates that include park access, some across multiple days.

Also, guests staying at Big Blue Hotel, where part of their stay includes a Thursday or Sunday night, will receive a free day Ticket to Pleasure Beach Resort for their entire party.

Sun Travel has contacted Blackpool Pleasure Beach for further comment.

Meanwhile, this theme park is the best value in the country and has the shortest queue times.

And this award-winning theme park is opening a new £300m attraction in the UK.
