Watch live: Harris delivers remarks at Zeta Phi Beta social justice town hall
Vice President Harris, now the likely Democratic nominee for president, took a trip to Indianapolis Wednesday to deliver the keynote address at the Zeta Phi Beta, Inc., Grand Boule — a conference focused on promoting social justice programs.
Harris, a Howard University alumna and member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, was thrust into the spotlight earlier this week after President Biden announced he would step down from the 2024 race over the weekend. Biden endorsed Harris in his place, and she has boasted a record fundraising haul and garnered other key endorsements ahead of November.
One such endorsement came from March for Our Lives, a first for the gun safety group. The group touted Harris’s work as a champion for gun safety and said she has met regularly with advocates and survivors of gun violence as vice president.
The event began at 12:45 p.m. EDT.
