Industry Makes Its Pitch

Or, in this case, its Kit-ch.

“Join us on the ground floor of what is going to be a spectacular journey,” Harry Lawtey as Robert says in the opening of the Industry season-three trailer. “Mark my words.” Industry returns for a third season on August 11, and it’s high time to hop on TV’s fastest-growing bandwagon. The show is heading to HBO Sunday nights for the first time, where it will air after House of the Dragon. It’s a big deal, especially when so many people still have a Succession-shaped hole in their hearts. Industry follows young, British stock traders at Pierpoint & Co. as they navigate their way through a world of drugs, political influence, and lots of money, and, while its characters spiral, the show has been on an upward trajectory since its first season. The first full trailer for the third season promises disaster for Pierpoint, and returning viewers know that the worse Pierpoint gets, the better Industry is.

The upcoming season features the debut of Kit Harington as Sir Henry Muck, the leader of green-tech-energy company Lumi, and, based on the trailer, it looks like he is going to complicate the already complicated relationship between Robert and Yas (Marisa Abela). Harington makes his debut alongside his fellow HBO darling Sarah Goldberg as Petra Koenig, a FutureDawn portfolio manager who partners with Harper (Myha’la), a terrifying duo everybody else should be watching closely. We will be.
