Iran and Pakistan deport nearly 5,000 Afghan refugees amid dire humanitarian crisis

The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation has announced the expulsion of nearly 5,000 Afghan migrants from Iran and Pakistan.

The ministry stated on Wednesday, July 24th, that a total of 4,992 Afghan migrants have been expelled from Iran and Pakistan.

According to the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, the expelled individuals entered Afghanistan on the 23rd of July through the Torkham, Spin Boldak, Islam Qala Herat, and Silk Nimroz borders.

Recently, both Pakistan and Iran have accelerated the expulsion of Afghan migrants who do not possess legal residency documents.

Despite international reactions, the Pakistani government has continued the expulsion process, maintaining its stance on the issue.

The plight of Afghan refugees in Pakistan and Iran has worsened amid this humanitarian crisis. Many of those expelled face significant hardships upon their return, including limited access to resources and support.

In Iran, Afghan refugees are struggling with inadequate living conditions and limited opportunities for legal employment, exacerbating their vulnerability and desperation. The ongoing crisis has heightened the need for comprehensive international support and relief efforts to address the urgent needs of these displaced individuals.
