Albany man pleads guilty to drug trafficking conspiracy

An Albany man pleaded guilty in federal court to drug trafficking conspiracy.

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- An Albany man pleaded guilty in federal court to drug trafficking conspiracy. Court officials said Brian Scott, 44, admitted to possessing cocaine and marijuana with the intent to sell them in the Capital Region and the North Country.

Court officials said Scott admitted that between June 2020 and October 2023, he was a member of a drug trafficking organization. Scott said a co-conspirator sent drug couriers to sell marijuana in the Capital Region and cocaine in the North Country; he sold 400 grams of cocaine to another person between May and September 2023.

Scott faces a sentence of 10 years to life in prison and probation of five years to life. He will be sentenced on Tuesday, Nov. 26, and has agreed to forfeit $22,045, $4,865 of seized drug money.
