Man arrested in Cleveland County on vehicle theft, illegal firearm possession charges

The Cleveland County Sheriff's Office says they recovered a stolen vehicle and several illegally-owned firearms while serving a warrant on Tuesday.

CLEVELAND COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) — The Cleveland County Sheriff's Office says they recovered a stolen vehicle and several illegally-owned firearms while serving a warrant on Tuesday.

According to the CCSO, investigators received an anonymous tip about two suspected stolen excavators on a Cleveland County property in Oklahoma City on Monday.

On Tuesday, authorities visited the property and could reportedly see one of the excavators, along with several other vehicles and trailers, clearly visible from the roadway.

When no one answered the door after investigators knocked on the door, the CCSO obtained a search warrant based on the suspicion of stolen property. While searching the property, patrol deputies found a Chevy Suburban that had been reported stolen in Norman.

As the search continued, deputies also reportedly found three rifles—two with homemade suppressors—three shotguns, a pistol and over 500 rounds of ammunition said to belong to 44-year-old Dustin Lee Conway, who is a convicted felon.

Conway was arrested and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of surveillance equipment in the commission of a felony, seven counts of possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction, and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
