Still missing his little hat, Art (David Howard Thornton) returns to Miles County for a Christmas killing spree in Terrifier 3. Due out this October, Art’s seasonal cheer begins at Comic-Con this week. Thankfully, with only 153 shopping days until Christmas, the elves at Cineverse have put together a taste of Art’s latest adventure.Set five years after the last Terrifier, Sienna (Lauren LaVera) and Jonathan (Elliott Fullam) head to Miles County for Christmas with their aunt and uncle. Of course, that gives Art, the evil clown possessed by a mysterious entity, reason to slide down the chimney after them. Writer-director Damien Leone also promises some payoffs for long-running story arcs, including the return of the original Terrifier final girl, Victoria (Samantha Scaffidi), who returns to the series as a possessed corpse. Victoria also appears in one weird scene in Terrifier 2 in which she gives birth to Art’s head (sans little hat). Yeah, these movies are something else.The Terrifier series is an unlikely box-office success story from the last few years. Despite emphasizing extreme gore and violence, the series has become a cult hit, generating beaucoup dollars on no-budget slashers. 2022’s sequel made a massive $15 million on a $250,000 budget.Terrifier 3 opens nationwide on October 11.Correction: Upon closer inspection, 27 seconds into the trailer, Art can be seen wearing his little hat.
