Kate Garraway replaced again in Good Morning Britain hosting shake up after her dad’s medical emergency

KATE Garraway has again been replaced on Good Morning Britain after her dad’s medical emergency came to light.

The ITV broadcaster, 57, fronted two episodes of the hit daytime series last week as she switched up her work pattern and covered Susanna Reid, 53, during the summer holidays.

Susanna, who works from Monday to Thursday, bid “goodbye” to Good Morning Britain for her break yet Kate herself needed a stand-in from Wednesday as she rushed to be with her father.

A week on, on her regular Thursday presenting slot, Kate was a no-show and replaced by Ranvir Singh, 39.

The show announced she would be paired with Richard Madeley, 68, on X, in a post which showed the duo with the words: “Today.

“Join Ranvir and Richard from 6am on ITV1.”

Last week, The Sun exclusively reported how Kate had been keeping a bedside vigil with her father after he suffered a suspected stroke and heart attack.

It came after the mum of two discovered her parent Gordon had collapsed at his home in Cornwall.

She then dashed to the coast to be with him, meaning she was forced to miss her TV duties.

At the time, a source told us: “Very sadly, Kate’s father collapsed earlier this week while staying , along with her mum and her brother in Cornwall.

“It was incredibly frightening as he was found unconscious and immediately taken to hospital. “Kate rushed to be by his and her mum’s side minutes after GMB finished on air.

“It seems likely that he’s had a stroke and possibly a heart attack as well – doctors are still doing tests.

“He remains in hospital and is currently stable but, understandably, it’s given the whole family a terrible scare and they are praying he can recover.

“Luckily Kate is due to be off work for a few weeks anyway so she can divide her time between the hospital whilst simultaneously looking after Darcey and Billy.

“After the horrible, heartbreaking year they have had, it’s so important to Kate that they try and have a normal summer break.

“It’s a very stressful time for the whole family but as ever Kate is doing her best to look after everyone.”

Back in 2021, she told how her mum Marylyn was rushed to the medical ward after she tripped up while on a walk.

The latest medical mishap comes after she lost her spouse Derek Draper earlier this year,

Derek died on January 3 from complications of long Covid.

The Lobbyist-turned-psychologist was one of the UK‘s longest suffering patients of Covid.

Kate paid her last respects at Derek’s funeral the following month, during which she made a touching tribute to her late spouse.

The Magic Radio DJ has always spoken openly about his battles while champion the unpaid carer industry.

Kate previously told The Sun about the huge medical fees of Derek’s complex requirements – and how she looked into releasing funds from Derek’s pension while he was still alive in order to fund the family’s spiralling expenditure.

It came after the tragic death of Kate’s husband Derek Draper in January
