Jai Sharma turns nasty with ex Laurel Thomas as she demands divorce in Emmerdale
JAI Sharma and Laurel Thomas’s marriage is over as the bistro manager demands a divorce.
Things will turn nasty between the couple as these scenes air next week.
Emmerdale viewers have seen the breakdown of Jai (Chris Bisson) and Laurel’s (Charlotte Bellamy) marriage in recent weeks – and the drama continues next week.
On Monday’s episode, Laurel and Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) have a catch up about the situation.
But this only makes things worse because Jai ends up getting very angry that Laurel brought up the mention of solicitors on the anniversary of their wedding and his dad’s death.
As a result, Jai starts to make things difficult for Laurel while she is at work the following day (Tuesday’s episode.)
He is belittling her and generally making this very awkward for her and the other employees who are having to listen to him.
Jai fears Laurel is planning to rinse him in their divorce, but his actions are just adding fuel to the fire. By the end of the day, Jai’s marital problems are pervading every aspect of village life.
But things turn even nastier between Jai and Laurel.
During Wednesday’s episode, Caleb (William Ash) advises Jai to be canny when it comes to a breakup and it seems like he’s planning ways to get one over on her.
Laurel and Jai’s divorce has been brewing for a while
Laurel and Jai’s marital problems began when she discovered he had forced his birth father Amit out of the village, but not before making him sign over his share of the Hop, cutting half-brother Suni out in the process.
Earlier this month Jai admitted to Laurel that he can’t face telling Suni the truth, which left her furious.
Their argument became heated and Jai insulted Ashley (John Middleton), so Laurel sent him away.
Laurel made it clear she wanted to separate, but even after she collapsed and ended up in the hospital, Jai struggled to accept that she was serious.
Now that Laurel is talking about solicitors and divorce, Jai might have finally got the message – but will he make his estranged wife suffer for it?

Star Chris previously opened up about Jai’s relationship turmoil and how viewers are going to see a different side of him going forward.
He said: “[This] has changed something inside him and going forward the way he views life and people and relationships may well be affected.
“Certainly the way he treats business will probably be affected, too.
“I think he is going to become a bit more ruthless. He feels he has been taken for a bit of a fool and he feels like that is never going to happen again. So yes, maybe Bad Jai is back!” he concluded.
Sounds like Jai will do whatever it takes to have his way, no matter the consequences.
