India leads security cooperation efforts at BIMSTEC National Security Chiefs meet in Myanmar

India has taken on a leading role in security sector cooperation within the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC). This was highlighted during the Senior Officials' Meeting in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, which set the stage for the upcoming 4th Meeting of BIMSTEC National Security Chiefs. Each BIMSTEC member nation leads in specific sectors, aiming to enhance regional cooperation and address shared challenges in areas such as trade, technology, and security.
