Despite being voted third in the hottest couple category, things soon went downhill for the pair.

They received the most votes for the most vain couple, followed by the couple who would most likely cheat on each other outside the villa.

They also received the second highest votes for the couple would would least likely work on the outside.

The pair looked disheartened as they realised that their popularity on the outside was waning.

Joey explained why he thought the public voted him the biggest cheat, saying: “Maybe my persona and who I am and I’m going to prove the public wrong.”

Fans were quick to take to social media, with one writing: “Joey went on Love Island hoping his popularity will skyrocket! It’s rather going deep downhill! Total cringe and embarrassment!”

A second posted: “Joey doing Love Island was the WORST decision he could’ve ever made. Talk about killing his popularity.”

Another added: “Either Joey really is that thick or it is totally fake to get his dwindling popularity back.”

It comes after Grace and Reuben was sent packing last night in a surprise dumping.

She has since admitted that ex Joey “had a problem” with her after hundreds of fans complained to Ofcom amid a bullying row.

The pair reunited after they split last year, with Grace entering as a bombshell and swiping him from Samantha Kenny.

But two weeks later Joey and Grace fell apart following the arrival of blonde bombshell Jessy Potts.

She won him over on their first date and Grace was forced to watch their romance grow.

Grace was dumped from the villa with Reuben Collins days before the final, after a game of Couple of Sorts saw them being voted by the public as the least likely to work on the outside.

Speaking during her exit interview, she spoke out on tensions with Joey, who always claimed that she still had feelings for him despite her constant denials.

She said: “I’ve been so lucky to be in the Villa with the most incredible group of girls.

“At some points there would be the odd bicker but we were like sisters.

“I love them all but Harriett, Jess S, Matilda and Emma were my closest friends there.

“Jessy (Potts) was also my right hand woman which was crazy, she was always by my side and I adored her.”

Gracey speculated on why Joey appeared to dislike her, adding: “I think that’s why Joey had a problem with me as he couldn’t get his head around the fact that I was best friends with his girl.”
