BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – An MTA bus crashed into a Burger King in Brooklyn early Thursday morning, according to the NYPD.

The crash happened near Dahill Road and Fort Hamilton Parkway around 12:11 a.m. The bus driver, in his 50s, suffered a medical episode, according to authorities.

A witness told PIX11 News she was one of two people on the bus as it was making its final stops. The woman, a nurse, said the bus began picking up speed and swerving into grass in the moments before the crash.

"The bus started speeding up quick; you have to think quick on your feet and before I knew it … We [were] in the Burger King," she said.

She said after the crash, she went up to the driver to make sure he was safe.

"I got out of my seat and I immediately went to him to try to help him," she said. "He was moaning ... I started CPR on him ... then he passed out on me. But he still had a pulse."

The passenger said emergency services arrived and rendered aid to the driver. The condition of the driver or what caused the medical episode remains unknown.

The two passengers on the bus were not injured, according to authorities.
