Coronation Street fans gobsmacked as Chesney Brown’s real age is revealed
CORONATION Street fans were left absolutely gobsmacked after Chesney Brown’s real age was revealed.
On last night’s edition of the long-running ITV soap, it was revealed that the character was turning 30-years-old.
Chesney (Sam Aston) was in the Rovers Return with his mother-in-law Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove).
His wife Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) was trying to earn some money working behind the bar in the pub.
As Chesney looked downcast, Gemma remembered that the special occasion was coming up.
She asked him: “So do you wanna go out for your birthday tomorrow?”
But Chesney has a lot on his mind, as he’s facing eviction from his lifelong home on Coronation Street.
His family received notice that they would be booted from their beloved house after making a complaint about the landlord to the council.
With the weight of his family resting on his shoulders, Chesney made it clear that he was in no mood to celebrate.
He replied: “Can’t afford it, can we?”, despite the fact that Bernie was still keen for celebrations to take place.
“But 30 is a big one!”, she remarked.
Chesney was still having none of it as he drank his pint in commiseration.
He gave a despondent response to her encouragements, saying: “Yeah, I don’t really feel like celebrating it to be honest.”
Adding: “Too worried about the house.”
The trio were put in a worse mood as Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) came barging into the pub and declared that Kit was over at the house with an estate agent.
But instead of focussing on the action, viewers were more distracted by the fact that Chesney was turning 30.

It looks likely she’ll be heading to Dublin after securing a lucrative new job, leaving her colleague and fling Adam Barlow behind.
Show stalwart Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw, is taking a break to star in the Sister Act The Musical UK tour. She will be back filming in May once her dates on the tour come to an end.
Her character left the Street after her son Jason broke his back after falling off a moped in Asia.
They thought it only seemed like it was yesterday when the actor joined the soap as a child in 2003.
Taking to X – formerly known as Twitter – one viewer asked: “How is Chesney only 30?”
A second fan stated: “Chesney is only 30”
Whilst a third also reacted: “Oddly shocked that Chesney is currently in his 20s.”
