GOING to a festival can be very expensive, from the tickets to buying toiletries, but something people often note is how expensive food and drinks are.
Over the years, prices at festivals like Reading and Leeds have been reported of up to nearly £10 for an adult beverage.
But a woman has now shared her hack to help you get alcohol into the festivals.
Taking to her TikTok, Vicka, whose username is @vickavicka, posted a video showing herself and a friend going through security.
Her friend went first and was caught out with a bottle down her bra before Vicka got through successfully by covering her chest further with her jacket.
Once through, she pulled out the bottle and grinned at the camera.
Vicka captioned the post: “How to sneak liquid into a music festival.”
People took to the comments to share their experiences of doing the same thing when they’ve attended music-filled weekends.
“My mum would fill water bottles with beer and put them in fold-up camping chairs.
“Then made me and my brother carry them through security,” one person said.
“I took a litre of vodka into a festival in my bra once, no issues lol,” a second wrote.
“We used to buy a multi-pack of waters and take out the middle ones, fill them up and slot them back in super carefully,” another penned.
Others complained about the prices festivals charge for alcohol and said people sneaking it in wouldn’t be such a big problem if they were lowered.
“Idk why these places don’t allow liquids they just want to price Dodge,” someone commented.
A second said: “If they didn’t rip people off then we’d not need to do this in the first place [rolling eyes emoji].”
At Glastonbury in June, the prices of drinks had people absolutely flabbergasted.
Bottles of prosecco were a whopping £43 and pints of draught cider and beer cost £7.75.
How to save money buying alcohol
Alcohol can be pricey if you’re planning a party or hosting an event but there are ways to cut costs.

Stocking up can mean big savings on drinks, especially if you want to buy wine or fizz.
The big supermarkets regularly offer discounts of 25% when you buy six or more bottles of wine. The promotions typically run in the lead up to occasions such as Bank Holidays, Christmas and Easter.
If you know you are going to need booze later in the year, it can be worth acting when you see offers.
Before buying your preferred drink make sure you shop around to find the best price – you can use a comparison site such as pricerunner.com or trolley.co.uk.
Don’t forget that loyalty cards can unlock better savings so make sure you factor that in too.
If you like your plonk, wine clubs can also be a good way to save money and try new varieties. You’ll usually have to pay a membership fee in return for cheaper price so work out if you will be buying enough to make the one off cost worthwhile.
A single shot of spirit with a mixer was £7.75 was the same price as a 175ml glass of wine.
“Some of those prices are insane. 43 quid for a bottle of wine! You can buy a quality vintage for that money,” someone wrote on social media at the time.

“It’s not only in Glasto, everywhere in UK it has crazy prices for no reason, in Italy is like £5!”
Even though the prices may have seemed quite high, they were cheaper than many venues in London, where a pint can cost £7 or more.
