Hazy conditions continue, hot again today

A much warmer start this morning with temperatures dropping down in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Temperatures today will be in the middle 90s. We will have a light wind from the east. Dew points picking up to the lower 70s, which is building in more humidity for the next few days.

As the area of high pressure from the west shifts over head, it will keep temperatures in the 90s and feeling hot for most of this week. The upper level jet stream will also carry wildfire smoke from the Pacific Northwest and Canada into northeast Kansas. This is creating a 'hazy' look outside and a red tint to our sunrises/sunsets.

Hopefully you enjoyed the stretch of 'cooler' temperatures because we are heating back up. We will keep with these seasonable temperatures for the remainder of the week. Overnight hours this week look to be mostly clear and lows fall into the upper 60's to lower 70s.
