Strictly bosses ‘could BAN dancer hook-ups after Nadiya and Kai’s bitter break up’
STRICTLY Come Dancing bosses are reportedly considering crunching down on workplace romances after Kai Widdrington and Nadiya Bychkova’s split.
Kai and Nadiya split at the beginning of the month after a two-year relationship off-screen.
The break-up came after a stressful period for the pair, which included the pressure of a UK tour together.
While it was initially claim that the pair “remained incredibly close” and “were determined their split would not have any impact on Strictly,” new reports suggest things have got more complicated.
It’s believed that Nadiya has reached out to the show bosses to “air her grievances”, and they’ve been avoiding each other at rehearsals.
According to the Daily Mail, the split has left Strictly bosses “considering issuing a warning to the professionals about forming relationships with fellow dancers”.
The reasons behind this is they “have the potential to create negative situations for Strictly and the BBC”.
The Sun has contacted Strictly reps for comment.
Kai and Nadiya’s split is the latest in a line of professional Strictly stars getting together and breaking up on the show.
Neil Jones and Katya Jones were already married when they joined the series, tying the knot in 2013.
Joining the show in 2016, their relationship broke down in 2018 after Katya was spotted kissing celeb partner Seann Walsh on a night out.
While they initially remained together, they announced they would divorce the following year.
Giovanni Pernice – who left the show earlier this year ahead of official complaints made against him – was also in a short-lived relationship with pro Jowita Przystal.
The couple were first reported to be together in December 2022, but they had called things off by March 2023.
The show has also become known for its “Strictly Curse” that has resulted in celebs and pros leaving their previous relationships.
Other stars have fallen in love with their partner while both single on the series.
This includes Dianne Buswell, who fell in love with Joe Sugg after their time on the series, and Kevin Clifton, who now has a daughter with his former celeb partner partner Stacey Dooley.
Kevin, who joined the show in 2013, married fellow pro Karen Hauer in 2015, and they continued to work alongside each other on the show following their split in 2018.
