Oklahoma homicide suspect arrested in Indiana

A man was arrested in Indiana on Wednesday regarding a homicide in Pocola, Oklahoma.

POCOLA, Okla. (KFOR) - A man was arrested in Indiana on Wednesday regarding a homicide in Pocola, Oklahoma.

According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the Pocola Police Department requested the bureau's help on February 21, 2023, regarding a shooting.

Officials say officers responded to the area of Butler Ave. and Clark Ave. around 1:30 p.m. that afternoon. Upon arrival, they found 26-year-old Barry Richardson with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the OSBI, evidence led investigators to 23-year-old Tyriq Eastling. On July 24, 2024, he was taken into custody by the United States Marshals Service in Michigan City, Indiana.

Easterling has been booked into the LaPorte County Jail in Indiana on a First Degree Murder charge, officials say.
