Queensbury barbecue joint permanently closes

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Streaking Moose BBQ, located at 990 Route 149 in Queensbury, has permanently closed. The restaurant made the announcement in a Facebook post on July 23.

"We regret to inform everyone that the Streaking Moose BBQ will be closing our operations, effective immediately," read the post. "We greatly appreciate all your support and friendship over the years and hope that our paths will cross again."

Streaking Moose BBQ was a seasonal operation, with the restaurant being open from mid-May to late-September. The Northway Brewing Co. food truck, which had partnered up with Streaking Moose BBQ, has also closed for now.

"After years of slinging some of the best BBQ in the area, Streaking Moose BBQ has decided to close its doors," wrote Northway Brewing on Facebook. "We will miss the great partnership we established with them and wish only but the best. With that being said, our food truck is currently going to be empty for the time being."

It is unclear if Streaking Moose ever opened for the 2024 season. When calling the restaurant, it goes to voicemail, which says the restaurant is closed for the off-season. The Streaking Moose owner did not immediately return NEWS10's request for comment.
