Jeanerette Police, SWAT team on scene of armed hostage standoff
JEANERETTE, La. (KLFY) -- Police are on the scene of an armed hostage situation at a home on Hubertville Road near MLK Avenue in Jeanerette.
Sources said both a negotiation team and SWAT team are on the scene.
Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office spokesperson Katherine Breaux has confirmed that at least one hostage is involved. Officials said the incident began when the Jeanerette City Marshal attempted to serve an arrest warrant at the home.
