Worker in critical condition after fall

A 23-year-old man was in critical condition on Thursday after falling to the ground while working at an under-construction building, the accident also leading to the discovery that he was illegally employed.

According to the police, the man was on the second floor of a building under construction in Limassol. At some point he fell to the ground, sustaining serious injuries.

He was rushed to Limassol general hospital, where he was intubated. Doctors there said his condition was critical but stable.

During the course of investigating the accident, authorities received information that the man was an illegal worker.

Police later questioned and charged his 43-year boss for illegal employment.
