AN X-FACTOR USA alum has shared how she handled the awkward moment she ran into a guy from a trending reality television show.
Carly Rose Sonenclar couldn’t believe what happened after she ran into a cast member from Love Island USA Season 6 and then literally ran away.
Singer-songwriter Carly Rose Sonenclar shot to stardom in 2012 on The X-Factor USA season 2 at 13 years old.
Her standout audition and second-place placement captured the attention of Simon Cowell and even landed her a record deal.
Now 25 years old, she’s once again in the spotlight over a viral video about her embarrassing meeting with a guy on the latest season of Love Island USA.
“So, I had one of the most embarrassing moments of my 25 years last weekend,” she began.
The scenario took place at an outdoor concert venue called Penmar in Los Angeles.
While walking to meet her friend, her attention was diverted by someone she thought she knew.
“I immediately recognize this guy as this dude that I met like the week prior. I was at a show with my brother and we both just became really good friends with this guy,” she added.
Seeing as how they all partied together and went to a bar, her memory may have been a bit foggy.
“I only met him this one time and we may have been drinking,” she explained.
She runs right up to this man in the distance because she thought they were friends but that was farthest from the truth.
Carly Rose “cuts” and “weaves” through people to go say hello to him , dragging her friend along in the process.
“This man is sitting there on a picnic blanket with like five girls,” she said.
I’m starting to just kind of realize with the way that he’s interacting with me that like he might not know who I am, and I’m like ‘That’s so weird. How could he not know who I am?'”

Immediately, she introduces herself and says “Hey” like they’re old friends.
She mentioned that he looked like he didn’t recognize her even though they had “just spent that whole night together.”
For a while, he played along but she noticed his behavior was odd.
“I’m starting to just kind of realize with the way that he’s interacting with me that like he might not know who I am, and I’m like ‘That’s so weird. How could he not know who I am?'” she explained.
Eventually, it sinks in that he doesn’t know who she is and she tells him that.
“I’m not going to lie to you. I don’t think we’ve ever met,” Connor replied.
I’m like ‘Carly, you have made a grave mistake.’ I had been watching Love Island [USA] the night before this, and this man came on as a Bombshell.”

“But you just seemed so confident that I wanted to make it seem like we had.”
BIG REVEAL
She realized that she did not know this man, and in fact, confused him because she had watched the newest episode of Love Island USA the night before.
“I’m like ‘Carly, you have made a grave mistake.’ I had been watching Love Island [USA] the night before this, and this man came on as a Bombshell,” she explained.
It was Connor Newsum from Love Island USA Season 6.
Connor entered on Day 2 as a Bombshell and left on Day 15 when he failed to couple up with anyone.
“My brain malfunctioned at this very moment, and I switched the two up,” she said.
The pair decided to “pretend it never happened” and shrug it off.
Carly Rose watched him go back to the five girls he was with and joked “Clearly, Love Island didn’t work out for you.”
Viewers viewed the moment as a positive interaction.
“Awww, but he’s such a sweetie for that,” one commented.
“Stop he’s so sweet,” another said.
“I bet he was so nice though,” a fan wrote.
