German Soccer Club SV Buckenhofen Strengthens Defense with New Signing Max Perez

German Soccer Club SV Buckenhofen has decided to strengthen their defensive line for the 2024-25 season by signing the versatile American defender, Max Perez. At 20 years old, Max is now participating in his second year with IFX Soccer in Nürnberg, which has allowed him to live, study, and progress in his soccer career in Germany.

From Arizona to Germany: A Journey of Growth and Challenges

Max Perez was born in 2004 in Mesa, Arizona. His soccer career took a significant leap when he joined the Pro year Germany program with IFX in Nürnberg, an opportunity that combines football training with cultural and educational experiences. Max has honed his skills and adapted to different levels by playing with different partner clubs; SG Quelle U18/U19, Baiersdorf U19, SV Seligenporten in the 7th division, and now SV Buckenhofen in the 6th division. Each team has contributed to his development, providing valuable insights and challenges that have shaped him as a player.

Adapting to SV Buckenhofen

Since joining German soccer club SV Buckenhofen, Max has been training intensively with his new team. The club, which competes in the Landesliga (6th division), has welcomed him with open arms. Max, who will be playing as a center-back (CB) and right-back (RB) this season, has praised the supportive nature of his coaches and teammates. Our soccer agency in Nürnberg has had a longstanding relationship with this esteemed club, fostering development and success over many years. We can say firsthand that the training sessions are intense and competitive, and the facilities, including a beautiful game field and comfortable locker rooms, provide an excellent environment for development.

“"I feel really good about this new transfer. I went from a regular comfortable starter on my old team to a player who has to battle every day for a starting spot. Every player pushes you to get better.""
Max Perez

Cultural and Playing Style Adjustments

Adapting to life in Germany was challenging for Max at first, with cultural differences and the stress of managing everything alone. Over time, he made friends who helped him with the language and daily life. The style of soccer in Germany, characterised by one to two-touch play and physicality, was different from what he was used to in Arizona, but it ultimately contributed to his growth as a player.

"IFX has helped a lot since I arrived in Germany, from soccer to day-to-day life, IFX Soccer makes sure you have a team that fits best for you and checks in on how you are feeling both soccer-related and in daily life."
Max Perez
"My experiences in Germany have been great. I grew exponentially from my first team to my team now. Every team has helped me understand the game better and pushed me to play quicker."
Max Perez

Significant Improvement and Future Goals

Max's game has improved dramatically since his arrival in Germany. In just two years, he has physically grown and advanced a division each season. His experiences with four different teams have given him a deeper understanding of the game and pushed him to play faster and more effectively.

When asked if he would recommend playing soccer abroad, Max responded, "I highly recommend playing away from your home country if your end goal is to play professionally. Germany is one of the best countries in the world to play soccer in. Soccer in Germany can teach young players with less experience to play good team soccer and can be very competitive for players more experienced who are looking for good competition."

Aiming High for the Upcoming Season

Max has set ambitious goals for the upcoming season with SV Buckenhofen. He aims to secure a starting position, play consistently, help his team finish in the top 2 in the league, and achieve the much-loved promotion by the end of the season.

From IFX Soccer, we wish Max Perez all the best in this new chapter of his career. We are confident he will make a significant impact on German Soccer Club SV Buckenhofen’s 2024-25 season and continue to develop as a player in Germany.
