Gray Wants Reaction Against Peterhead

David Gray wants to see a reaction from his players when they face Peterhead in the Premier Sports Cup on Saturday.

The Hibees were defeated by Kelty Hearts last weekend, which means they need to beat Peterhead to progress into the next round the competition.

When looking ahead to the game, our Head Coach was under no illusions regarding the importance of this match.

“A reaction from Kelty is important,” said Gray. “What I would say is, the players have always delivered what we’ve asked of them, it was just the difference in both boxes last week.

“I don’t want to make excuses at all, we know where we can improve, and we’ve worked hard on that this week.

“There’s been a lot of good things and internally we go into the game in a positive place.”

Hibs are one of three sides that sit on six points in Group C, the other two play each other at 3pm on Saturday as well.

But Gray isn’t concerning himself with other results, his sole focus is on making sure Hibs win the game.

“We can only worry about things that we can affect. I know it’s the group stages, but in many ways this is now a classic cup competition as we know we need to win to go through. We need to win the game as well as we can.

“It’s in our hands and we have to deliver that. The players are very much aware of the challenge in front of us, it’ll be a difficult game, but we need to reach the levels and standards that we’ve seen."
