Barack & Michelle Obama Officially Endorse Kamala Harris for President

It’s official – Vice President Kamala Harris has the support of the Obamas as she runs for President!

On Friday morning (July 26), former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama officially endorsed Harris, 59, for the Democratic presidential nomination and vowed to help her defeat former President Donald Trump in the Presidential Election this fall.

Keep reading to find out more…In a video posted on Instagram, Harris took a call from the Obamas, as Barack to said to her, “We called to say Michelle and I couldn’t be prouder to endorse you and do everything we can to get you through this election and into the Oval Office.”

Michelle added, “I am proud of you. This is going to be historic.”

Harris responded by saying, “This means so much to me. I am looking forward to doing this with the two of you, Doug and I both, and getting out there, being on the road. But most of all, I just wanna tell you that the words you have spoken and the friendship that you have given over all these years mean more than I can express.”

In a separate statement shared in a campaign email, Barack and Michelle said they agreed with President Joe Biden that selecting Harris has his running mate was “one of the best decisions he’s made.”

“There is no doubt in our mind that Kamala Harris has exactly what it takes to win this election and deliver for the American people,” the Obamas said in their statement. “At a time when the stakes have never been higher, she gives us all reason to hope.”

With President Obama‘s endorsement, Harris has secured support from all major Democrats and party leaders in Congress.

Over the weekend, Biden, 81, announced that he would not be running for a second term and endorsed Harris for President.

In an address to the nation, Biden explained why he decided to drop out of the race.
