The GMDA enforcement wing undertook a demolition drive in Old Gurgaon due to complaints from residents about illegal encroachments causing traffic and pedestrian issues. The operation cleared encroachments from 350 shops, removing 12 tea stalls, 12 temporary shops, and 38 jhuggis. Police issued challans to 22 wrongly parked vehicles. Licensed vendors were not disturbed. Warnings were given to prevent re-encroachment, and 250 meters of fencing was begun on the GMDA green belt. The drive aimed to improve traffic management and pedestrian safety.
