Looking to solidify their rotation for the pennant race and postseason, the Baltimore Orioles acquired Zach Eflin Friday from the Tampa Bay Rays, sources told Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

In a separate move, the Seattle Mariners traded an outfield prospect for Toronto Blue Jays reliever Yimi García.

The 30-year-old Eflin (5-7, 4.09 ERA) has 87 strikeouts in 110 innings covering 19 starts. He was dealt for Double-A outfielder Matthew Etzel (six homers, .809 OPS, 41 steals), High Single-A right-handed pitcher Jackson Baumeister (3.06 ERA, 18 starts, 91 Ks, 70 2/3 innings) and High Single-A utilityman Mac Horvath (nine homers, .765 OPS, 26 steals).

BA has Horvath ranked as Baltimore’s No. 13 prospect and Baumeister at No. 18.

The big return for García, who fanned 42 in 30 innings and is 3-0 with a 2.70 ERA and 0.80 WHIP, was outfielder Jonatan Clase, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Clase hit 10 home runs with an .856 OPS at Triple-A before getting called up to the big leagues. He has slashed .195/.233/.220 in 43 plate appearances in the majors. BA has Clase ranked No. 113 on the Mariners’ prospect list.
