Albany Police investigating carjacking near Alexander Street

The Albany Police Department is investigating a carjacking that took place near Alexander Street on Thursday night.

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Police Department is investigating a carjacking that took place near Alexander Street on Thursday night. No one was injured during the incident.

On July 25 around 10:50 p.m., police responded to the area of Alexander and Clinton Streets following reports of a robbery. Arriving officers spoke with a woman who stated that while sitting in her car, she was approached by two men who demanded her vehicle.

The victim told officers that one of the men appeared to be brandishing a handgun. The woman complied with the robbers and the two men reportedly fled the scene in her car.

Police located the victim's vehicle on the 200 block of Delaware Avenue around 8:20 a.m. on Friday morning. The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Albany Police detectives at (518)462-8039.
