CATSKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A small sea plane crashed into the Hudson River in Catskill Thursday evening. Around 5 p.m., the single engine plane crashed in the area of Dutchman's Landing after having a mechanical issue.

The pilot told police the plane caught a crosswind as he was trying to land on the water. As a result, the wing struck the water and the nose of the plane slammed into the water. It began to take on water, but the pilot brought the plane to the dock area.

The pilot was the only person on board, and no injuries were reported. The plane was removed from the water. Police said no spills were noted.

The Federal Aviation Administration was also notified, and the crash remains under investigation.
