NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Commuters should expect mass transit delays and cancellations at Penn Station due to FDNY activity, according to Notify NYC.

“Expect mass transit disruptions, delays, cancellations & emergency personnel near West 31st Street & 8th Avenue (Penn Station) in Manhattan. Use alternate routes,” the post on X states.

The FDNY responded to a fire located in machinery on the mezzanine level of Penn Station around 4:20 p.m., officials said.

More than 60 FDNY members responded to the scene. At least four fire trucks were seen outside in the street near Penn Station, video on the Citizen app showed.

The fire was brought under control around 5 p.m., according to the FDNY.

No injuries were reported in the fire. The fire marshal is investigating its cause, officials said.

There were no reported delays on the Long Island Rail Road and NJ Transit, as of 5 p.m.
