More than 11,000 athletes are descending on Paris for the 2024 Games.

And a staggering estimate of 15million fans will travel to the French capital during the summer festival of sport.

But a special police division has been set up to limit illegal sex work.

According to TMZ, checkpoints, road operations and other police tactics are targeting the Bois de Vincennes, Bois de Boulogne and Belleville areas of Paris and cut down on prostitution.

A surveillance group will also monitor night-time establishments such as cabarets.

And the City of Paris and Public Prosecutor’s Office have also been drafted in to help.

Brothers were officially banned in France in 1946.

However, paying someone for sex became an illegal offence in 2016 in an attempt to punish the clients rather than the workers, many of whom rely on the money received to make a living.

Ironically, though, the sky-high price of hotels in Paris is understood to have kept many sex workers away from the Olympics.

But France 24 state several charities believe the heavy-handed police approach at the Olympics could have a negative effect on prostitutes’ health and safety.

On a lighter note, Paris 2024 have installed ‘anti-sex’ cardboard beds in the Athletes’ Village.

But just in case, they are also distributing a whopping 200,000 condoms to the world’s best sports stars, some of whom may well take full advantage of the Olympic sex ban being lifted.
