Watch These 6+ Movies Before They Leave Netflix At The End Of July 2024

If you’re anything like me, you sit on Netflix for so long trying to pick a movie to watch that you wind up with no time left in the night to watch anything. It makes you feel like there’s absolutely nothing to watch even though we all know that’s not true. What better motivator for picking a movie than its imminent demise? Watch these films quick because they’re leaving Netflix at the end of July. I’ve picked out the best of the best to narrow it down even more for you. You’re welcome!

Anaconda (1997)

I once attended a theatrical screening of Anaconda at a small local theater. A commentary team sat below the screen and ripped it to shreds over all the little weird or cringy moments in this 1990s creature feature about a team trying to stop a gigantic murderous snake. And the whole audience had a blast. If that doesn’t make you want to watch this, I don’t know what will. Don’t forget to invite friends.

Fatal Attraction (1987)

When this classic thriller–about a scorned mistress taking her revenge out on the married man she had a brief affair with–first came out, everyone saw Glenn Close as the villain. On a 2024 re-watch, it’s fun to see where your allegiances actually lie. Justice for Glenn Close?

Knocked Up (2007)

Katherine Heigl may have had a notoriously terrible time filming this movie, but we certainly enjoy watching it. This is the film that started Seth Rogen’s decades-long career as a rom-com heartthrob. While so many just didn’t see the appeal back then, many have changed their opinion by now. (And if you haven’t, that just means you haven’t seen Long Shot (2019) yet, which is also on Netflix.)

Resident Evil (2002)

Back when almost all video game movies were either bad or so bad they were good, Resident Evil broke the mold. It’s about a zombie outbreak in a science lab, and it’s just plain good. One of the sequels, Resident Evil: Retribution (2012), is also leaving Netflix at the end of the month. Maybe you could have a Resident Evil movie marathon?

Shrek (2001)

It’s the beloved animated classic that seems to become more and more popular with every passing year. It makes sense: The fairy tale reimagining has aged like a fine wine. (Or swamp water?) From the soundtrack to a donkey falling in love with a dragon, it has everything you could ever want. Bring on the nostalgia!

The Matrix (1999)

One of the best sci fi movies ever made, you might feel ever more connected to this movie for how close we are to an eventual AI apocalypse. (And I’m happy to say I used absolute zero AI to write this article. Take that AI overlords.) The entire Matrix film series is on its way off Netflix at the end of July, so here’s another opportunity for a cyberpunk movie marathon.
