Four arrested for bombing prison officer’s car

Police on Saturday announced the arrest of four people in connection with the bombing of a prison officer’s car, which had taken place earlier this month.

The four, aged 42, 39, 31, and 27 years old respectively, were all arrested on Friday, and all appeared in court on the same day. All four were remanded in custody for eight days.

The car had been bombed in the early hours of July 4, with police believing that the attack was connected to the fact the target is a prison officer.

Trade union Pasydy said the prison officer in question “has a strong sense of responsibility, dignity, and consciousness.”

“This is why he was the target of brazen perpetrators who were irked because they saw their unlawful plans obstructed,” they added.
