I’m over 50 & get my skincare from Dollar Tree – my eye cream does double duty & I freaking love a dupe for a $30 buy

A BEAUTY enthusiast in her 50s was pleasantly surprised by how similar a Dollar Tree eye cream was to a pricey buy.

She raved that it helps her skin retain moisture while living in a dry climate.

The woman shared her opinion on Dollar Tree’s skincare products in a post on Reddit’s Frugal forum, which has over 5 million members.

POWERFUL PRODUCTS

She decided to try the budget-friendly products after being “disappointed” by recent purchases from Bath & Body Works.

“The lotions have started to make my skin itch, and being post-menopausal, itchy skin is already a problem for me,” she said, writing under the handle Historical-Gap-7084.

“I don’t need it irritated even more. So, I decided to see if products from Dollar Tree would work.”

She raved that bPure hydrating night cream sold at Dollar Tree is similar to Olay Regenerative, which costs an eye-watering $27.49 at Target.

“I freaking love this stuff,” she said.

“I put it on about 15 minutes before I go to bed.

“Since I’m over 50 and live in a dry climate, I need something that’ll help my skin retain moisture.”

She was equally impressed with Dollar Tree’s Global Beauty Care collagen skin cream (face), facial serum, and the smooth and lift eye cream.

“I use all of these in the mornings, and the eye lift cream at night combined with the night cream mentioned above,” she said.

“The facial serum contains collagen, peptides, hyaluronic acid, and squaline, as do the face and eye cream.

“They feel good on my skin, albeit slightly oily, so I don’t use much, and sometimes I don’t use all three in one day.”

The Redditor said Bolero Beverly Hills body butter is a non-oily moisturizer with a “pleasant” vanilla bean and honey scent, while their body oil leaves her skin smooth after a shower.

She said Yardley of London’s large facial cleansing towlettes are also worth buying because they are “effective” and “the size of a washcloth.”

“Overall, the products I purchased are fairly comparable with the more expensive beauty products I’ve purchased in the past,” she said.

“So, if you’re tired of the loud scents from BBW [Bath & Body Works], and need an alternative, definitely check out Dollar Tree, if you have one in your area.”

Many people upvoted the post and thanked her for the product recommendations.

“That Olay Regenerist cream is $30, the dollar store dupe for $1.25 is a deal, it’s ridiculous to charge $30 when it’s not even made in the US or Europe,” one person said.

“Thanks for this!!! It’s extremely helpful…” another commented.

“Yes, dollar store skincare is slept on,” a third chimed in.

bPure hydrating night cream is also sold on Amazon, where it has a 4.4-star rating out of a possible 5.

The fragrance-free product contains vitamins E, B5, and B3 to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles overnight.

The brand recommends using a “dime-sized” amount of the cream on the face and neck as the final step in night beauty routines.

According to Healthline, vitamin E may be useful for reducing UV damage to the skin.

It is also “excellent” for moisturizing dry patches.
