We recognize that there are barriers that can impact people participating in volleyball, especially for groups that historically have been excluded, discriminated against, or had limited access. These groups can include but are not restricted to women, low-income families, Indigenous peoples, racialized persons, seniors, people with disabilities, newcomers to Canada, and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

We want to hear from you if you have faced any barriers or challenges when participating in volleyball. This can include anything that has prevented you from taking part, such as issues related to accessibility, culture, finances, language, or physical factors

By reporting these barriers, you will help us gather information about the challenges that prevent people from being included and participating in volleyball activities. Volleyball takes place in many locations and organizations across BC, and many of these activities or facilities may not be directly managed by Volleyball BC. This makes it hard for us to take direct action in some cases. However, by collecting information about people’s experiences, we hope to identify and encourage changes to make our sport more accessible.  Information will be used to identify common issues and shared with Volleyball BC Board, staff, and partners to take action where appropriate.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I SUBMIT A REPORT?

Your report will be sent to a member of the Volleyball BC staff.

If you provide your contact information, you will receive an acknowledgment within 48 hours.

Volleyball BC will review the barrier or challenge you have identified and determine the next steps.

Volleyball BC staff will collect and report on recurring themes or issues twice a year to the DEI Committee and Board.
