Social behaviors shape societies and influence individuals’ perceptions of each other, affecting many, particularly in certain communities. Shabnam’s story exemplifies this impact.

Despite facing harassment, she has successfully challenged societal taboos and adverse cultural norms. Shabnam remains committed to pursuing her goals, driven by the belief that everyone deserves equal rights..

Shabnam Amiri is a girl from Kabul who was deprived of education. She seeks to make up for the years of “suffering” and isolation caused by societal attitudes through her writing. She expresses her struggles and aspirations through the written word, aiming to escape her isolation and the negative impact of public attitudes.

Shabnam states, “The major obstacle to my progress has been the societal ridicule I faced due to my speech difficulties. The laughter of others hurt me deeply, causing me to withdraw and escape from society.”

Nevertheless, Shabnam is determined not to succumb to her circumstances. She believes that everyone is equal in society and continues to strive for her dreams, unlike many others who may be discouraged by societal barriers.

She is passionate about both business and writing. She considers her writings as expressions of the “wishes of girls” and the “pain” she has endured for years. “Writing makes me feel lighter because I can express what I couldn’t say to anyone. I hope to achieve great things so that my community can be proud and recognize that no reason should prevent us from reaching our dreams.”

Currently, Shabnam is also learning drawing and calligraphy. She encourages other girls to overcome their fears and acquire new skills while awaiting the reopening of university doors.

Shabnam recounts her inability to participate in an entrance exam as one of her worst memories. “I aspired to be a successful businesswoman. I obtained the entrance card, completed the biometric process, but my hands shook during the exam, preventing me from participating.”

Despite societal prejudices and negative cultural behaviors, Shabnam has remained resilient. Participation in seminars and public engagements has helped her overcome her fears and become a role model for other girls. She wants to inspire them to remain hopeful and not give up due to societal stigmas.

Shabnam describes herself as unwaveringly determined, asserting, “I want to become a successful businesswoman, writer, calligrapher, and artist in the future.”

Meanwhile, Shabnam Amiri’s journey is a powerful example of resilience and determination. Her efforts to overcome societal obstacles and her commitment to personal growth and education serve as an inspiration for others facing similar challenges. Her story highlights the importance of pursuing one’s dreams despite societal limitations and encourages others to follow their passions and ambitions.
