Queen Elizabeth was ‘terribly frail’ as health deteriorated but William & Kate gave her ‘immense comfort’ in final days

QUEEN Elizabeth was “terribly frail” during her final days but was comforted by Prince William and Princess Kate, claims a royal expert.

The longest-raining monarch‘s health quickly deteriorated in tragic scenes which left the country mourning her for weeks.

Thousands of people from all over the world stood on the streets of London to catch a glimpse of her funeral procession just three months after the Platinum Jubilee.

In what appeared to be a shock passing, Queen Elizabeth was actually secretly battling “constant pain” from her bone-marrow cancer diagnosis, it is claimed.

And in June 2022, she had to muster all of her strength to appear on Buckingham Palace balcony as crowds gathered in the Mall to celebrate her 70 years.

Royal expert Robert Jobson said her final few appearances “took real courage”.

Writing for MailOnline, he said: “Her health deteriorated rapidly over the following three months.

“She struggled terribly with failing eyesight, and had difficulty even lifting a teapot to fill her cup.”

And a source close to the late Queen revealed: “Her Majesty could hardly see and just didn’t have the strength.

“She would get terribly frustrated as she hated causing a mess, pouring it over the tray.

“She asked for a smaller pot and would get frustrated when the staff forgot and brought the big one.”

Robert added Queen Elizabeth “knew she was dying” but had “immense comfort” knowing Prince William and wife Kate were around to take over one day.

He said: “As her strength ebbed away, it brought her immense comfort to know the monarchy could be entrusted to the next two generations.”

Prince William recently took over royal duties – appearing at events on behalf of his dad King Charles and Princess Kate as the pair both battled cancer diagnoses.

In April, Wills visited a school in Sandwell, West Midlands, to meet a boy, 12, who wrote him a heartfelt letter about the stigma around male mental health.

The royal apologised for Kate’s absence and said she would have “loved to be there.”

Both Wills and Kate work with charities Mind, Samaritans, Shout and Hospice UK.
