Their flagship programme The UK Tonight has been ditched for a month as part of their summer schedule changes.

Presented by fan-favourite Sarah-Jane Mee, it covers the main stories the country is talking about, as well as featuring live interviews.

Sarah, 46, took to Instagram to announce the news to Sky News viewers.

The anchor wrote alongside a studio snap: “The UK Tonight is off air for the summer…

“Thank you for your company and we’ll see you in September.”

The UK Tonight – which first launched back in October last year – is also presented by Matt Barbet on occasion.

Meanwhile, Sky News bosses were recently left scrambling when a huge technical blunder pulled the channel off air.

Gareth Barlow and Friday presenter Anna Jones were standing by to host Sky News Breakfast last week.

However, the show never made it to air with a pre-recorded film airing in its place.

The blunder occurred due to a global technology outage that plagued services from airlines to banks as Microsoft cloud services were downed.

The severe issues crashed computers around the world that left major banks, businesses, newsrooms and television networks all plunged into chaos.
