Love Island’s Faye Winter bravely shows off her ‘real skin’ as she reveals medical condition in bare-faced video

REALITY star Faye Winter has opened up about her ongoing struggle with hyper pigmentation, that has left her with areas of discolored patches on her face.

The 29- year-old who appeared on Love Island in 2021, shared some candid footage of her describing her condition, which she attributes to years of sun exposure.

The star reveals she’s been having a treatment called Agejet to address her patchy skin[/caption]

Unmasked with not a scrap of make up, Faye showed off her real skin to her 1.1 million followers, as she describes having to undergo a course of treatment called Agejet to treat the discolouring.

She says: “I didn’t realise until yesterday, how many of us suffer from hyper pigmentation issues. I’ve had agejet done twice and this is my second time.  Last time I did try and flog it but I was too embarrassed to come on camera looking like this.”

And Faye admitted the last time she underwent treatment, her mother had a strong emotional reaction. She said: “The last time I had my whole face done, I saw my mum and she cried because of the way that I look. It looks worse before it looks better.”

Age Jet is a skin resurfacing procedure that treats a number of ailments, including pigmentation issues, stretch marks and scarring as well as fine lines and wrinkles.

But Faye has described the procedure as being excruciating.

She said:  “I am not going to lie, it’s the most painful thing I’ve ever had done in my entire life.”

The social media influencer also admitted that although she’d like to raise awareness of her condition, she is concerned about receiving an onslaught of criticism over her appearance.

She said: “I am a little bit scared about the backlash that I am going to get for the way that I look. But wear sun screen kids, try not to get sun damage.”

Fay has long been a campaigner for health and last year revealed she had found a lump on her breast.

She has also told how she refuses to age gracefully – yet isn’t shy in admitting her filler mistakes.

Faye – who was paired with Teddy Soares on Love Island but later sadly split – exclusively told The Sun: “My [lip] fillers were massive.

“Everyone saw my lips on the show, everyone knows what they look like.

“And now I’m like, actually, yeah, it’s embarrassing to look back and see what I’ve done.

“When I saw myself on TV, that was a massive wake up call.”

What is hyperpigmentation?

Hyperpigmentation is common condition that makes some areas of teh skin darker than others.

“Hyper” means more, and “pigment” means color. Hyperpigmentation can appear as brown, black, gray, red or pink spots or patches. The spots are sometimes called age spots, sun spots or liver spots.

A number of treatments are available including face acids, retinoid, chemical peel treatments and laser peel skin resurfacing such as Agejet.
