To boost investment, Budget presents GIFT to VC funds on compliance

The budget proposal exempts Venture Capital funds in GIFT City, Gujarat, from disclosing their fund sources. This aims to ease compliance and encourage investment. Tax exemptions will also apply to retail schemes and ETFs. However, the exemptions do not offer immunity from the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
