Albany Medical College welcomes 145 new students

Of the 13,000 applications it received, Albany Medical College welcomed 145 new students during a White Coat Ceremony on Friday.

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Of the 13,000 applications it received, Albany Medical College welcomed 145 new students during a White Coat Ceremony on Friday. The class of 2028 includes students from 25 states, 49 from New York, and 24 from the Capital Region.

The ceremony was held at The Egg in Albany in the Kitty Carlisle Hart Theatre, where students put on their symbolic white coats for the first time and recited the Declaration of Geneva, which is a modern-day oath for physicians.

The newest class also includes 59 students who graduated from the medical college's degree programs at Siena College, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Union College. Additionally, 33 students entered with a master's and one with a doctoral degree.
