UK Carmakers Retool Production Lines for Electric Vehicles

British car production fell during the first six months of the year as manufacturers retooled production lines to make electric vehicles (EVs). New figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) showed production fell 7.6 per cent over the period as factories delivered 416,074 vehicles to the market. It comes as automakers rapidly shift to greener fleets ahead of looming bans on the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles.
