How Kate Middleton’s Personality Made Queen Elizabeth II Change Her Mind About This Royal Lifestyle, New Book Claims

While we’ve heard conflicting things over the years about whether or not Queen Elizabeth II liked Catherine, Princess of Wales after meeting her. Some claim she was hesitant, while others claim she loved Catherine, better known as Kate Middleton, right away. But now, this new book is claiming that one of those theories is correct: that Elizabeth had a good feeling instantly about Kate.

In Robert Jobson’s upcoming book, Catherine, the Princess of Wales: A Biography of the Future Queen, he detailed that despite Elizabeth being hesitant about anyone marrying a commoner after Princess Diana, she ended up loving Kate.

Apparently, she kept a close eye on this relationship with Kate and Prince William; and immediately loved Kate for her lack of drama.

“The Duchess always appeared to be calm and circumspect. Her Majesty was drawn to her sensible approach when she arrived on the scene,” a former courtier said to Jobson via DailyMail. “She found her very polite and good-natured, and she liked the way she interacted with members of the family. She seemed very at ease.”

But what about Prince Philip? Apparently, Jobson claimed he was happy William found a “level-headed” woman to marry, and even gave her some advice before being plunged into the royal stratosphere.

Per the same outlet, he reportedly told her to “never to believe that the attention she’d receive as a member of the Royal Family was for her personally. It was for what she was supporting” and to never look at the camera like celebs do.
