Just like the slogan t-shirts she is so fond of, Christina Hall’s latest Instagram story says a lot about what comes next with her contentious divorce from Josh Hall in a sassy and succinct way. The two first announced their divorce on July 16, citing “irreconcilable differences,” and it’s clear the drama is far from over.
On July 26, Christina was spotted walking one of her dogs at Castaway Park in Newport Beach, sharing the serene moment with her Instagram followers. The video, set to Kanye West’s song “Gold Digger,” seems to be a clear reference to her ongoing issues with Josh. This comes just one day after Christina dropped bombshell accusations on her Instagram stories, claiming that Josh took over $35,000 from her bank account, swiped items from their meticulously styled home, and exhibited behavior she described as “insecure” and possessing a “big ego.”
Christina Hall, known for her successful HGTV series like Flip or Flop and Christina on the Coast, has built a substantial career in home renovation and reality TV. Her split from Josh Hall, a former police officer turned realtor, has been anything but smooth. Fans were taken aback by the news of their divorce, particularly because the couple appeared happy and were actively working alongside Christina’s first ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa and his wife, Heather Rae, on their new HGTV show, The Flip Off.
According to sources, the primary issue in their marriage was Josh’s contribution — or lack thereof — to their household. “Christina works very hard and is successful,” an insider previously noted. “She felt like Josh was not contributing enough to the household.” This imbalance seemed to have been a significant factor in their separation.
Adding fuel to the fire, Josh has filed for equal division of property and assets, including rights to the TV shows they produced together during their marriage. Given California’s community property laws and their lack of a prenuptial agreement, Josh might have a strong case. Christina, however, is expected to argue that the success of their shows is largely due to her established presence and fanbase.
“Christina is ready to fight Josh, and the battle between them has only just begun,” an insider shared to Daily Mail. They continued, “She is getting evidence together for the divorce but he’s also ready for battle. Josh wants to clear his name and get justice for himself, whereas Christina feels she has been wronged.”
Sources suggest there is no chance for reconciliation between the two. As one insider previously noted, “Christina was done when she filed the papers. It’s hard, but she’s doing great.” Despite the turbulence, Christina appears to be focusing on moving forward with her career and life.
With filming for The Flip Off underway, it remains to be seen how this will impact the ongoing show and Christina’s future projects. For now, it seems like Christina is focusing on getting her money right.
