'Don't think he is trying to win': Trump slammed for rally shoutout to 'white nationalist'

Donald Trump Saturday spoke at a Bitcoin conference at which he shouted out a controversial ally who digs up dirt on his enemies, leading to widespread condemnation online.

Trump, speaking in Nashville, was also hit with expert pushback after telling the cryptocurrency group that, if the Democratic Party wins the 2024 presidential election, "every one of you will be gone."

Separately from those comments, Trump showered compliments on activist Laura Loomer, who has previously been compared to "radioactive waste from Godzilla" in a brutal profile.

At the event, Trump gave a shoutout to "the great Laura Loomer."

"Some of you know Laura, she's a fantastic person, a great woman," The ex-president added.

It didn't take long for the internet respond to Trump.

The campaign account for Vice President Kamala Harris, who is likely to be the Democratic nominee in the upcoming election, responded by claiming that Loomer is "a self-proclaimed white nationalist."

Newsletter writer Parker Molloy said of Loomer, "She's even too extreme for Marjorie Taylor Greene."

Conservative Army Iraq War Veteran Peter Henlein said, "If the GOP nominee for President is going to call Laura Loomer ‘great’ and a ‘fantastic person’ at every campaign event he does, I don’t think he is trying to win."

Journalist Yashar Ali said, "The number of horrible things Laura Loomer has said are overwhelming."

"Trump people don’t even defend her!" Ali said.

Loomer responded to Harris' campaign by saying, "I’m actually Jewish. But we know you hate Jews [Harris]!"

"As President Trump always says, the Democrat Party is the party of Jew haters!" Loomer wrote on Saturday. "PS: Israel was just attacked by your friends in Hezbollah. Maybe you should issue a statement about that instead of focusing on me!"
