Person injured after jumping into water at McKinney Falls

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- One person was transported to the hospital after an accident at McKinney Falls State Park, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

Around 7 p.m., the Austin Fire Department and ATCEMS medics responded to the call after an adult was injured while jumping into the lower falls, according to officials.

AFD tells us the person jumped from a height of 20 feet and landed on a rock. ATCEMS medics said they transported that person to St. David's South Austin with "potentially serious injuries."

McKinney Falls State Park is a popular destination for people during the summer.
