To the editor: Retaliation for atrocities will only escalate

At long last the Palestinian cause is well stated by Dr. Jomana Al-Hinti (“Justice denied from Palestinian perspective,” June 30). After thousands of homes destroyed, main hospitals shattered, and over 35,000 people killed, mainly women and children, in Gaza, perhaps Al-Hinti’s essay will get the attention of the local citizenry. The savage surprise attack by Hamas on Israel is no justification for these mass murders, not only in Gaza but also now on Lebanon’s border.
