I transformed my ugly garden corner into a ‘gorgeous’ summer patio with a few B&Q buys – everyone says it looks amazing

She then used black paint and a stencil to give the patio its design[/caption]

In her video, she told viewers how she had given her patio a new lease of life with some paint and stencils.

“I bought some Sandtex paint and we had a concrete patio put down, and [the paint] took around three coats to cover [the patio],” she said.

“It went on really easily.”

The colour of the Sandtex paint is called Brilliant White, which you can grab from B&Q for just £40.

She then used a stencil design from Dizzy Duck Designs to create the pattern on her patio with some black paint.

The one Melanie used is called Ksar and starts from £25.

“Starting from the middle I worked my way out, and [I] taped the stencil to the concrete so it didn’t move.

“I used the Sandtex black paint and it took two coats.”

She joked: “It dried really quickly because it was sunny for a change.”

Melanie said she loved the stencils and how they had turned out, but did note that in some areas the paint had bled slightly.

“We added a pergola, our Rattan corner sofa, and our egg chair.

“And I’m gonna be putting up some plants just to make it a bit more green,” she said.

She added her favourite time of day to sit out there is in the evenings, “especially when we have our candles and mini lantern lit”.

Melanie might live in the UK, but her patio corner could easily be mistaken for Ibiza or Mykonos it looks that good!

In the comments, she revealed to her 72k followers it cost £800 to get the patio atop the gravel and her friend did it for her.

Melanie was asked why she started in the middle when painting with the stencil and replied: “I did it so the edges all looked symmetrical.

“Also, the paint takes around an hour to dry so I found it easier to start in the middle and work out so I didn’t stand on it!”

“What a change! Very nice,” said one person.
